GLOBALCOM ® EN54-16 100W x 4 Channel Power Amplifier
The 5400 Series amplifiers are an integral part of the IED GLOBALCOM communications system. ® EN54-16. The IED5414AMP features four 100-watt amplification channels. The amplifier has a Class D switching mode that provides benefits such as: higher efficiency, higher reliability, better performance and lower operating cost. Switch-mode operation combined with high-voltage power devices eliminates the heavy, expensive, and bulky transformers used by some amplifiers to drive distributed 100V speaker lines.
The amplifier is internally monitored and limited to prevent overcurrent and overtemperature conditions, also protecting the amplifiers from damage due to short circuits in the speaker lines. Floating 100V direct outputs reduce more than just weight: installation and rack costs will drop significantly. The cost of power consumption will be, on average, about one third of that of any normal amplifier.
In addition to the main power supply, a 24V DC power input is provided in case of power loss which will automatically switch to 24V battery power, without any loss of output power. The amplifiers are typically paired with a 5404DZM or 5432DZM for EN54-16 compliant systems.
The main unit requires two (2) rack units (3.5") of vertical space in a 19" equipment rack/cabinet. All cooling is from front to back.
