Audio line isolator
The ALI20 are audio line isolators designed to isolate audio devices from each other. In most cases, they are used to prevent hum caused by ground loops in audio systems. They offer a complete passive solution for isolating a balanced stereo audio signal. They feature dual XLR input and output connectors and a ground lift switch. The input and output phases are matched. The ALI20 is built with an audio transformer with a 1:1 turns ratio and an impedance of 600 ohms. The difference is the transformer shielding.
The ALI20 contains a shielded transformer that meets the requirements of most standard applications, while the ALI25 contains a MU metal shielded transformer that can be used when regular shielding becomes inadequate.
