The 500 Series line offers several easy-to-install advantages, including a standard 6 RU panel opening at the top of the cabinet and conduit assemblies. The top opening can be left open for clear cable access/venting, partially covered with ISOPANEL™ for non-conductive cable access, or closed using two standard 5 1⁄4" panels (3 RU). The top opening is also perfect for installing EFP Fans in series. Multiple duct assemblies provide maximum access and are conveniently located on the top and bottom panel surfaces, and along the top and bottom rear flanges of the enclosure frame. The surface assemblies consist of four knockouts: two standard 1" (25 mm) knockouts and two concentric 1⁄2" (13 mm) / 3⁄4" (19 mm). Flange assemblies consist of five knockouts: three standard 1" (25 mm) and two concentric 1⁄2" (13 mm)/3⁄4" (19 mm).

The cabinet frame and rear door are vented to promote air circulation and heat dissipation. Includes a pair of 12 gauge CRS adjustable mounting rails with 10-32 threads (544-30 includes 2 pairs of 12 gauge mounting rails). Cabinets have welded top and bottom panels with panel opening vents; Removable tailgate with quick-release spring hinges, flush handle and cylinder lock.

The enclosures feature front-to-back mounting rail brackets with slotted cutouts to easily adjust rail depth and provide open channels for vertical cable routing. (Note: The number of supports per side varies depending on the model selected: 40RU and 44RU models = 4 per side; 35RU model = 3 per side) The cabinet surface is pre-treated with phosphate for proper paint adhesion. The standard finish is #962 textured black epoxy.
