TWO-WAY PASSIVE BOX
The VFR69i two-way full-range speaker system features a 6-inch vented, direct-radiating low-frequency cone driver and a 1.25-inch voice-coil, 1-inch exit high-frequency compression driver, loaded with a large, 90x rotatable square 50° coverage pattern horn built on the classic MK Series horns. These speakers offer exceptional high-frequency dispersion, and their square shape allows users to "twist the housing around the speaker" to maintain directivity in a horizontal configuration.
The new revision of the VFR “i” more fully incorporates the VF concept into the EAW product line.
Because the VF Series full-range (VFR/VFM) systems use HF sections similar to those developed for the MK Series, EAW engineers could employ the same revolutionary internal “beamwidth-matching” passive crossover/filter networks that distinguish the MK Series from all other two-way systems. When powered by an EAW-specified amplifier or UX Series digital signal processor, the VFR69i can benefit from EAW Focusing, a technology that eliminates the inherent time-domain anomalies of any loudspeaker.
The VFR69i omits the handles and includes traditional features such as a 4-terminal NL4 parallel connector, a barrier strip connector, and an optional transformer. The new design leaves the cabinet sides completely smooth and attractive.
