A rich audio heritage
The ND 555 is the result of more than four decades of audio engineering. From our modern streaming module to powerful, natural-sounding audio stages, every element of this network player is based on our design DNA, giving it that distinctive, captivating Naim sound. The development process for the ND 555 also helped us advance new technologies: for the first time, we have added Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) to a premium Naim player. We chose LVDS because it minimizes timing errors due to its high speed and minimizes radiation due to its low noise.

The ND 555 is packed with innovative technology from input to output. The transmission section uses the latest Naim network card with high speed, low noise LVDS to route the digital audio signal. The highest speed is capable of decoding most HD audio formats at up to 32-bit/384kHz or DSD128. Instead of the source acting as the digital sync master, our new drive board turns things around and allows our DAC clock to control the audio data stream. The data is sampled in its entirety on a SHARC DSP with incredible 40-bit precision and fed into the Burr-Brown® PCM1704, a true R2R ladder DAC prized for its exceptional sound quality.PZA MORE SPECS
