NAP 200 DR:
First designed by Naim Audio founder Julian Vereker in 1971, the NAP 200 has Naim Audio musicianship written into its DNA. As our first production power stage, no product better encapsulates our philosophy. Its design is simple and uncompromising, with a unique focus on one thing: creating a lasting musical connection with the audiophile.
More recently, the NAP 200 has benefited from years of research that went into the NAP 500 power stage. Many of the developments in the 500 Series project have helped revitalize its electronic design and components, bringing significant gains and improving performance. Beneath this new technology, however, it retains the values that helped make it iconic: simplicity, focus, and sheer musicality.
The NAP 200 power amplifier has been reinvigorated and reintroduced in 2015 with the addition of a Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) module to feed its associated Naim audio preamplifier. This is accompanied by minor improvements to some internal components and design that combine to elevate its musical performance even higher than the original.

Like the flagship NAP 500, the NAP 200 uses a new circuit design with improved grounding arrangements built on a very high-quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. Resonance-controlling anti-vibration feet serve to protect sensitive internal components from microphonic vibrations and unwanted external interference.
A new high quality 430VA toroidal transformer provides over 300VA of transient power. Separate windings provide dedicated rectified power supplies for the left and right channels with two smoothing capacitors per channel. The NAP 200 power amplifier also has a separate winding that provides a preamp power supply. This allows it to be used in a two box power amp setup with a Naim Audio preamplifier such as the NAC 202. The Naim Audio NAP 200 is stable under any load and can drive a 2 ohm load for long periods of time.
