Our preamps sum up everything we believe in. Starting with our revolutionary NAC 12 in 1974, Naim Audio preamps have rewritten the rules and set the standards for others to follow. The NAC 552 is second only to our NAC S1 Statement: its distinctive two-cabinet configuration marks it out from the competition just as surely as its unrestricted musicality reflects our core values. It's one of the best preamps we've ever produced, and by extension, among the best in the world.

technology and crafts
Like all components in our flagship 500 Series range, the NAC 552 has been developed without compromise or constraint. The two-box design, which houses the power supply components in a separate cabinet to better control electromagnetic interference, is classic Naim Audio. Instead, the power supply employs a radically new concept, including a new split rail configuration that almost completely eliminates power supply noise on the signal ground.
The NAC 552's sound-critical electronics are mounted on a bronze sub-chassis that is fully suspended on coil springs at a frequency below the threshold of human hearing. This suspension method maximizes isolation, thus minimizing the effect of vibration on highly sensitive electronic components. Carefully selected precision rotary potentiometers with precious metal wipers are used to preserve the integrity of the music and ensure long-term stability.
Six inputs can be selected on the 552 NAC directly from the front panel or from the remote control. In addition to the usual DIN inputs, preferred for their higher impedance and grounding, the NAC 552 owner can configure two of the inputs for use with the most common RCA-style connectors, allowing the use of alternative components with second-hand interconnects
