KSM8/B (PZA) MICROPHONE

Cardioid dynamic vocal microphone

The Shure KSM8/B Dualdyne black dynamic handheld vocal microphone is a dual-diaphragm dynamic microphone designed for vocal reproduction and sound reinforcement in live performances and professional venues.

It features the patented Dualdyne capsule, to compensate for proximity effect and maximize off-axis rejection, and the patent-pending Diaphragm Stabilization System (DSS).

The KSM8 has an extremely wide listening spot due to the Dualdyne element design and its ability to compensate for proximity effect. Furthermore, its neutral mid/high frequency response requires very little external processing, resulting in consistent, natural-sounding audio regardless of the artist's microphone technique or location.

Characteristics

  • Patented capsule design featuring two ultra-thin diaphragms (one active and one passive) and a revolutionary reverse airflow system, enabling exceptional cardioid pattern consistency across the entire bandwidth.

  • Precise frequency response due to proximity effect compensation, allowing neutral reproduction of mid and high frequencies, resulting in the most natural-sounding dynamic microphone available on the market.

  • Exceptional proximity effect compensation dramatically increases operating distance without on-axis coloration.

  • The off-axis attenuation is flat and broad, resulting in better rejection of unwanted sound sources for greater vocal clarity.

  • The Dualdyne cartridge redefines Shure's pneumatic shock mount design, featuring specific resistances and precision-machined components that are fully integrated into the cartridge's acoustic properties.

  • The patent-pending Diaphragm Stabilization System (DSS) technology protects and stabilizes the active diaphragm from unwanted excursions, plosive sounds, or impacts, providing significant protection against high-frequency noise caused by microphone handling.

  • Modern capsule manufacturing methods utilize ultrasonic and internal laser welding to provide the best mechanical reliability.

  • The neodymium magnet is placed in a micro-injection mold of SoftMag aerospace material, which maximizes the magnetic field for maximum output.
