SoundTube® WX Weather Guard technology uses a dual-layer hydrophobic material inside the speaker grille to prevent water from entering the drivers and internal electronics even in the most extreme weather conditions.

 The speaker also features a powder-coated steel grille with a tool-free locking system. ^{BroadBeamHP®} proprietary Waveguide technology delivers a consistent dispersion pattern for maximum intelligibility and edge-to-edge coverage. 

The SM890I-WX has an 8.0-inch treated fiber driver with a 1.42-inch offset compression horn configuration. The speaker features a patented, tool-less, rotatable 110 x 85 bayonet-mounted horn for customized dispersion and projection. 

Plus a 150 watt maximum output low insertion loss transformer for short to medium throw, PA and sound reinforcement and an easily accessible six-position tap switch for 25, 70.7 and 100 volt applications with transformer tap position.
