SoundTube® WX Weather Guard technology uses a dual-layer hydrophobic material inside the speaker grille and a powder-coated aluminum grille to prevent water from entering the drivers and internal electronics even in the most extreme weather conditions. 

The speaker features higher power output for long-throw, high SPL requirements, as well as a 5.25-inch polypropylene woofer and a 1.0-inch TracTix horn-loaded convex aluminum dome tweeter in a ported enclosure. SM590I-II-WX has an average sensitivity of 87.0 dB offering high output capabilities and reduced amplification costs. The speaker has an easily accessible six-position selectable tap switch for 25, 70.7, and 100 volt applications with transformer tap position and utilizes ZeroReflection ^{™ patented.}

Cabinet technology for optimal sound reproduction and cabinet rigidity. Using the new SM590I-II Stealth bracket mounting systems ^™ , as well as vertical and horizontal swivel, allow the SM590I-II-WX to be aimed anywhere within the installation space and the low-profile enclosure design keeps the speaker close to the wall.
