The next generation version of the CM82-EZ with enhanced and additional features. Designed for applications with limited plenum space incorporating a SoundTube-specific shallow backcan with an installed depth of 3.5 inches. An 8-inch (203 mm) polypropylene woofer with butyl rubber surround and a 1.0-inch (25.4 mm) silk dome tweeter. An easily accessible six-position whip switch for 25/70.7/100/100 and 16 ohm transducer close-bypass configuration allows for easy ordering, stocking, and installation. Reduced amplification costs and peak efficiency with 88.0 dB sensitivity, 16 ohm impedance, and a sealed enclosure. Superior speech intelligibility with an average coverage angle of 105 (210 kHz, independently verified). The cost-effective 16 ohm configuration allows the use of multiples of two, four, or six speakers in a single system using a standard transformerless amplifier. It incorporates a rust-inhibitor painted steel grille for long-lasting durability. The ceramic input terminal accepts up to 10 gauge plenum-rated wire leads and includes a thermal fuse. Suitable for use in voice alarm applications subject to EU regulations EN60849 and BS5839-8. Adaptable to ceiling thicknesses ranging from 0.04 in (0.9 mm) to 1.60 in (44.6 mm). UL 1480 (UEAY) and 2043, cUL, CE (MEM Directive 89/366/EEC, EN55020, EN55013) approved.
