Indoor wall-mounted PoE+ IP speaker with LCD display, talkback microphone, and 25V/70V switch
The AtlasIED IPX Series IP-SDM-72 indoor wall-mount IP speakerphone with display and talkback leverages VoIP communication solution to extend telepresence with enhanced audio for those environments where network-wide communication is desired and requiring large, high-performance speakers to overcome high ambient noise areas or large spaces.
AtlasIED IP-SDM-72 registers as a communication endpoint directly within InformaCast and Revolution Advanced Notification applications, supporting visual text and audio streaming to enhance physical security while improving daily communications through advanced alerts, pre-recorded and scheduled bell schedules, announcements, and intercom, while leveraging WAN/LAN network architecture.
When used within a Cisco environment, these same AtlasIED IP speakers can join Cisco Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) as a supported device within the SRST endpoint architecture. Cisco SRST provides call processing redundancy at remote locations when access to the centralized Cisco Unified Communications Manager is interrupted due to a WAN outage. The ability for LAN communication between any combination of phones and speakers is particularly critical during an emergency (which may be the actual cause of the WAN outage).
The IP-SDM-72 IP speakerphones with display and talkback provide equal “effective communication.”
"Under Title II of the ADA, all state and local governments must take steps to ensure that their communications with people with disabilities are as effective as their communications with others."
What does it mean for communication to be “effective”? Simply put, “effective communication” means that Everything written or spoken must be as clear and understandable to people with disabilities as it is to people without disabilities. .
When third-party notification applications are not required, the IP-SDM-72 speakers can be registered as SIP devices directly to a SIP server or VoIP communications manager for critical alerting/public address applications and two-way communication.
Ideal for corporate applications, educational institutions, entertainment complexes, industrial facilities, government buildings, healthcare facilities, places of worship, transportation hubs—anywhere where critical public alerting/footage needs exist and you prefer to use a single, enterprise-class communications platform.
Characteristics
The IP-SDM-72 indoor loudspeakers are equipped with an 8" (205 mm) coaxial speaker optimized for speech intelligibility. Additionally, the IP-SDM-72 includes a 25V/70V transformer attached to the rear of the speaker and a power switch on the front baffle that allows selection between 25V/70V and mains. This allows a facility to install the IP-SDM-72 and use an existing analog paging system to deliver messages until the driver and software are installed. Once that is complete, the grille can be removed and the switch switched to mains, resulting in the speaker receiving its information from the controller without the need to remove the speaker. This is ideal for retrofit applications or for systems where components are installed in phases and the speakers need to operate during roll-out.
The IP-SDM-72 IP speaker grille is made of 18 gauge metal providing safety and durability in commercial applications. The deflector is finished with a neutral white electrostatic powder coat and comes with all necessary mounting screws.
While in standby, the IP-SDM-72 displays the time and eliminates the need for a separate master clock system by using the National Time Protocol (NTP) to stay up-to-date. When active, the IP-SDM display occasionally switches to visual notifications by scrolling text content on the LCD digital readout.
The IP-SDM-72 includes a subminiature omnidirectional electret condenser microphone that mounts behind the steel grill perforation material next to the speaker to allow two-way communication and/or monitoring from the speaker location to any PC or phone.
All AtlasIED IP loudspeakers consist of a factory-assembled speaker, grille, and control/amplifier PCB that are securely mounted to the rear of the grille.
The IP-SDM-72 features automatic registration. This is an easy and time-saving way to configure our IP speakers on your voice VLAN, similar to a VoIP phone. By being connected to the same VLAN, both VoIP phones and IP speakers share the same Quality of Service (QoS) so communications are always secure and guaranteed.
