POWER SEQUENCING FOR AUDIO (PZA)
Surge protection
From the RX series in a fifteen amp three-step sequencer
The CQ 1515-RX combines reliable AC power sequencing with the proven surge protection and filtration performance of the Juice Goose RX Series.
Each CQ Series product contains the necessary circuitry for sequenced activation and plug-and-play coordination with other CQ Series models or RC Series accessories. All on and off sequences are performed automatically. Commands are passed from one CQ series unit to the next.
The CQ 1515-RX is a single-space rack-mount device featuring 7 AC power outlets on the rear of the chassis with a combined rating of 15 amps. One outlet is disconnected. The remaining 6 outlets are grouped into 3 Power Pods of two outlets each. Each Power Pod is an individual sequence event. All outlets have RX Series premium surge protection and line noise filtration.
Because the CQ 1515-RX is a self-contained sequencing circuit, it can be either a master or a slave in a power sequencing system. An eight-wire RJ-45 cable can be connected to the signal input and/or signal output connectors of this unit to link its operations with other CQ or control devices.
This product features LEDs on the front of the chassis for real-time monitoring of sequencing functions. Individual LEDs light up when power is applied to your power module.
Proven power protection
Published test results demonstrate the effectiveness of the power protection circuitry contained in the CQ 1515-RX and other RX series-based products.
This RX power protection technology is particularly valuable because it works against both common mode and normal mode events. While protecting against dramatic surges of up to 6000 volts at 3000 amps in hot and neutral mode (normal mode), it also limits ground line (common mode) surges to half a volt (0.50) to prevent operational failure of digital processing equipment.
The power protection circuitry in the CQ 1515-RX includes a differential transformer, extensive filtering capacitance, and control circuitry that provides protection against dangerous surges, high-frequency interference, building wiring faults, and overvoltage. RX technology has been proven to offer protection comparable to that of an isolation transformer.
LED function
A flashing blue/red processor LED indicates continued operation of the circuit and logic that controls and drives the sequencer while being protected from power line surges between line and neutral. In the unlikely event of a RX protection circuit failure, the processor LED on the front of the CQ will flash red. Individual blue "Pod" LEDs are linked to the output of each of the sequencer's relays. Each LED lights up when its relay is blocked.
Processor LED Function: Blue/Red Flashing = Sequencer and Surge Protection OK. Flashing Red = Sequencer OK, surge protection fault. Solid blue or off = sequencer failure
Sequence synchronization adjustment
For CQ series products, the standard delay time between up and down sequence events is 2 seconds. This can be adjusted on the CQ 1515 by changing the position of two DIP switches located on the main control circuit board. Time options are 2 seconds (standard), 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds. Detailed instructions on how to make these changes are included in the CQ series manual.
