It's a Wrap
The new HTM82 D4 may be the most compact of our center channel speakers, but in terms of design, it shares DNA with its larger siblings, as evidenced by, for example, its Inverted Wrap enclosure and Matrix™ bracing system. The combination of these two technologies ensures a speaker that is quieter, more musical, and more acoustically efficient than ever before.
Enclosure with Inverted Envelope
Unlike a conventional speaker, the HTM82 D4's enclosure is made from a continuously curved section of wood, with the speakers mounted at the heart of the curve. This more rigid and inert structure resists mechanical resonances much better while ensuring superior sound dispersion.
Continuum™ cone midrange speaker
Introduced as a huge evolutionary change for us in 2015, the Continuum midrange driver has quickly become a staple in every Bowers & Wilkins speaker. With an exceptionally low noise level, it ensures outstanding resolution without coloring the sound or masking the finest details.
Decoupled midrange speaker
The HTM82 D4 features a dedicated midrange cone that utilizes three core Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum cone, Biomimetic Suspension, and midrange decoupling, the latter designed to ensure minimal interference with the speaker's woofer operation. The result is outstanding clarity.
