At the core of Optimum are three silver-plated Ohno Continuous Cast Copper (OCC) conductors, with each lead strand having a square configuration for tighter bundling. OCC offers a much higher level of purity with outstanding electrical conductivity, improved flexibility, fatigue and corrosion resistance. A high quality FEP provides a very low dielectric constant over a wide frequency range. All three conductors are given a slight twist to aid RFI and EMI rejection, and are then surrounded by a cotton filler that provides internal resistance and reduces microphonics. The entire construction is encased in a Mylar wrap to provide additional dielectric damping, before an active OFC shield is applied for maximum rejection of high-frequency interference. A durable PVC outer jacket provides a high degree of flexibility and mechanical strength. CONSTRUCTION: Drivers are in a parallel configuration with a slight swivel twist. This established technique remains the first line of defense against RFI and EMI rejection.
