It’s safe to say that the center speaker is the most important speaker in a home theater system, and the HTM81 D4 boasts an enviable combination of advanced technologies – including a top-mounted Solid Cabinet tweeter, a Continuum™ cone midrange driver, and two 200mm (8-inch) Aerofoil™ cone woofers – to reinforce this assertion.
Aerofoil bass cone
Our Aerofoil technology for the bass cones continues to be an exceptional solution to the challenge of combining low mass and high stiffness thanks to its carbon fiber outer casing and variable-thickness foam core. Now, we've added the Anti-Resonance Foam Mat to reduce vibration and achieve even cleaner bass.
Diamond Dome Tweeter
Without a doubt one of our most significant achievements of the last two decades, the ultra-light and supremely precise Diamond dome tweeter is the perfect combination of low mass, exceptional rigidity, and outstanding definition. 15 years after its introduction to the market, we still haven't found a better dome tweeter technology.
Aluminum pods on the woofers
The HTM81 D4 houses two Aerofoil bass cones in dedicated, billet aluminum pods, each of which is attached to an aluminum plate, which in turn is attached to the most rigid part of its curved enclosure. Formed as a single piece of metal, these extremely rigid structures provide the perfect mechanical location for the aforementioned bass cones.
