Tributaries Series 4 Fiber Optic Cables are single mode plastic optical fibers made of 1mm transparent fiber cores surrounded by a highly reflective coating and protective jacket. The liner and jacket are applied in concentric layers during the drawing process to prevent fiber damage that can occur during a 2-step process. The constant thickness improves attenuation losses. The 4AO has highly polished termination tips that resemble the convex appearance of a camera lens to ensure maximum signal transfer. This procedure ensures less than 0.1dB of loss on each termination.
